From Melbourne: It’s about 4.5 hours (approximately 357km).
From Albury-Wodonga: It’s just under 2 hours (118km).
If you’re traveling during the snow season (June to October), you’re legally required to carry snow chains for your car, as weather conditions can change rapidly. These can be hired from ski shops along the way.
Don’t forget a Resort Entry Permit, which is mandatory in winter to access Falls Creek. You can purchase this online or at the resort entrance.
2. Public Transport
Take a train to Albury or Wangaratta, both accessible on major train routes. From there, you can:
Connect with a coach service that takes you directly to Falls Creek.
Hire a car or arrange a private transfer to the resort.
This option is great if you prefer not to drive in icy conditions.
3. Air Travel
Daily flights operate to Albury Airport from cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
From Albury, it’s a 1 hour 45-minute drive to Falls Creek. You can rent a car, book a private transfer, or take a coach to complete your journey.
For a more luxurious and quick option, helicopter transfers are available from Albury Airport, taking approximately 35 minutes and offering spectacular aerial views of the region.
4. Coach Services & Private Transfers
Regular coach services run from Melbourne, Albury, and other nearby cities to Falls Creek. These are hassle-free options if you want to sit back and relax.
