EV Charging Stations in Perisher
Perisher, Australia’s largest alpine resort located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, has limited but growing electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Here’s a detailed overview of the EV charging options available at Perisher as of my last update (October 2024):

- Type: AC destination charger
- Connectors: Type 2
- Power: 11kW
- Access: Hotel guests priority, available to visitors when space permits
- Notes: Reservation recommended during peak season
Perisher Skitube Terminal (Bullocks Flat)
- Location: Alpine Way, Bullocks Flat (base of Skitube)
- Type: DC Fast Charger
- Connectors: CCS2 and CHAdeMO
- Power: 50kW
- Access: Public, pay-as-you-go
- Operating hours: 24/7
- Notes: Most reliable option for day visitors, located at the Skitube terminal
The Man from Snowy River Hotel
- Location: Kosciuszko Road, Perisher Valley
- Type: AC destination charger
- Connectors: Type 2
- Power: 7kW
- Access: Hotel guests and restaurant patrons
- Notes: Limited availability, check with reception
Perisher Central Car Park
- Location: Near Perisher Centre
- Type: AC destination charger
- Connectors: Type 2
- Power: 22kW

- Notes: Not always operational during summer months
Important considerations for EV drivers visiting Perisher:
- Perisher has significantly less charging infrastructure than neighboring Thredbo
- During winter (June-October), many visitors use the Skitube from Bullocks Flat rather than driving to Perisher
- The drive from Jindabyne to Perisher involves substantial elevation gain and can be challenging in winter conditions
- National Park entry fees apply when driving into Kosciuszko National Park
- Chain requirements may be in effect during winter months
- It’s highly recommended to have a backup charging plan and check availability before traveling
- Consider charging in Jindabyne before heading up to Perisher
Due to the remote location and seasonal nature of Perisher, EV drivers are advised to plan their charging strategy carefully. The resort management has indicated plans to expand charging infrastructure, but development has been slower than at some other Australian alpine resorts.
