A Hidden Gem in the Alpine Wilderness.
From families and friends to new faces, everyone is welcomed into the lodge’s cosy and warm atmopshere. Picture yourself gathered around the open fire in winter, watching the snow gently fall outside the lounge windows. Or perhaps you’ll dig for beer in the legendary “God’s Fridge,” or scramble to the top of Higgi for a breathtaking sunset. In one of the highest positions on the mountain, the ‘Big D’ chairlift is right next to the lodge with access to night skiing on Saturdays and Wednesdays only a few steps away.
In summer, you can enjoy hiking one of the many bushwalking tracks, admiring the native spring flowers, or cycling along scenic alpine roads, all while soaking in the stunning mountain views.
Aardvark Lodge is all about providing affordable, enjoyable holidays for members, friends, and guests alike. Whether you’re here for the snow or the serenity, you’ll find a place to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories in one of Australia’s most beautiful alpine settings.
About the Lodge
New renovations have created a large new mezzanine living area upstairs complete with a kitchenette and wide windows opening up stunning views over Hotham to the North-West. the lodge also boasts an open plan lounge and dining room, cooking and food storage facilities and a fully equipped kitchen including microwaves. Several bathrooms are each equipped with a shower, toilet and basin – central heating is used throughout the lodge including for our drying room where you can leave wet clothing and boots to dry overnight.
Kitchen Facilities
Communal facility includes – a fully equipped kitchen with commercial dishwasher, two large ovens and multiple gas burners, fridge and pantry storage for each room. All crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, tea, coffee and basic condiments provided.

- Up to a total of 38 persons in 9 bedrooms across 3 split levels.
- A range of bed configurations: 6 rooms have doubles and singles, 2 have all singles and 1 just a double bed.
- Doonas and pillows provided. Please bring own sheets (top and bottom sheets), pillowslips and towels. Alternatively, you can hire sheets and towels for a small fee, but please note sleeping bags are NOT permitted.
