Dinner Plain Village is situated 10km East and is a unique village where the homes, apartments and lodges reflect the heritage of the early pioneer buildings often built of stone, timber and corrugated iron.
It has a relaxed village atmosphere and is has many services to make your holiday enjoyable and easy. A well stocked supermarket, many bars, cafes and restaurants, and Australia’s first indoor outdoor retreat and spa.
A regular shuttle bus service connects Dinner Plain to Mt Hotham so there is easy access if you are wanting to ski at Mt Hotham or just wanting to visit the cafes and shops.
Dinner Plain has its own beginner run and is great for all the family with day shelter facilities available and also a toboggan slope. Dinner Plain also offers access to 35km of cross country trails that are in and around Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain.
Dinner Plain offers downhill skiing at a level suitable for beginners.
Located in the Village the “poma lift” is a great place to learn how to ski.
Lessons are available but must be booked with the Hotham Snowsports School the day prior.
The Liftline Café at the bottom of the Dinner Plain lift is open from 10am-2pm when the list is operating and offers a range of food and beverages including:
- Toasted focaccias
- Hot Soup
- Biscuits / Slices
- Coffee, Hot chocolate and Soft drinks.
Cross Country Skiing
Between Dinner Plain and Hotham lie 35km of groomed** and marked cross country skiing trails.
Hotham Snowsports School offers Private lessons on request.
